District Resource Unit

This branch assists educational authorities in planning and co-ordination of training programmes for Adult and Non-formal Education personnel throughout the district and to provide necessary support in organizing such programmes. One of the important organization of the DIET which acts as a resource centre of the district. It has following functions:

Functions

  1. To maintain data (3-14 age group) about nonstarters, dropouts and school going children in the district.
  2. In the light of recommendations of NEP 2020 pertaining to pre-primary part of foundational stage proper record will be maintained about various types of information regarding ‘Anganwari Kendras’/ICDS functionaries such as:
    a. List of anganwadi centres in the district & their enrollment.
    b. List of various ICDS functionaries such as, P.O.,CDPOs, supervisors workers working in the district.
    c. Working schedule and activity schedule/content of A.W. centres.
  3. Mentoring of anganwadi centres.
  4. Record of various types of information about SSA and its functionaries in the district.
  5. Coordination with organisations working in the field of IED (Integrated Education for Disabled) in the district.
  6. To assist educational authorities in carrying out various awareness programmes in the district, e.g. AIDS, Polio, Drug Abuse, Road Safety, POCSO, etc.
  7. Organisation of various activities in the district such as Youth Parliament, Yoga Competitions, Celebration of various days and other competitions of this nature pertaining to Population Education and Social Sciences dept. of SCERT.
  8. Coordination with various NGOs working in the field of education
  9. To undertake action research in relevant areas in collaboration with other departments of the DIET.
  10. Maintenance of record about various types of information regarding AIE centers , such as :-
    a. List of all N.G.Os and AIE centers in the district.
    b. No. of instructors working and students studying in AIE centers (age group of 6 to 11 & 11 to 14).
