Department of In-service Programmes, Field Interaction, Innovation and Coordination (IFIC)

Constant in-service education of teachers is essential to keep them well-informed of the changes taking place in their professional milieu and to advance their skills and attitudes in view of their changing role. IFIC should also have interaction with the field to identify problems to be sorted out and innovative practices to be adopted. Action researches which power professional growth are to be conducted to provide teachers and learners scientifically achieved information that helps to improve the quality of the learning process. 

Functions:

  • Planning and coordination of in-service Teacher education
  • Acts as Nodal branch for organising in-service education for teachers all over the District.
  • Maintain a database of in-service teacher education programmes and to organise follow-up activities for such programmes.
  • Prepare a pool of resource persons for various teacher transformation programmes and provide room to promote different skills, creativity and innovation among resource persons.
  • Serve as a reference and resource centre for teachers and to establish coordination among teachers
  • Facilitate dissemination of information and coordination of follow-up and extension activities.
